Until the first Mars flight by Mariner 4 in 1965, it was believed that water could be in a liquid state on the surface of the planet. It was based on recurring information on light and dark spots. In particular, black striations have been interpreted by some observers as water irrigation canals, in polar latitudes that look like seas and continents when tall. The presence of these straight lines could not be proved later and it was believed that these lines are nothing but mere optical illusions. Nevertheless, of all the planets in the solar system, except for our Earth, Mars is the most likely to have life and water.
Currently, Mars has three orbiting spacecraft Mars Odyssey, Mars Express and Reconnaissance Mars Orbiter, more than any other planet in the solar system except Earth. On Mars, there are two exploration rovers (Spirit and Opportunity), Lander Phoenix, as well as a number of defunct rovers and landers that have either failed or completed their mission. The geological evidence collected by him or his predecessor expeditions indicates that there was a large amount of water presence on Mars as well as they have indicated that in recent years small hot water fountains have burst here. The discoveries by NASA's Mars Global Surveyor have found evidence that the southern polar icy peaks are decreasing.
Mars has two moons, Phobos and Dimose, which are small and irregular in shape. It appears that it is an asteroid similar to 5261 Eureka, which is trapped here due to the gravity of Mars. Mars can be seen from the earth with naked eyes. Its virtual magnitude can reach -2.9, and this brightness can only be exceeded by Venus, the Moon, and the Sun, although most of the time Jupiter appears naked to the naked eye more than Mars.
