According to NASA, scientists working on an audacious mission to Europa's maritime world can proceed with the final design and construction of the spacecraft. The Europa Clipper mission will target Jupiter's snow-capped moon, which is considered a major target in exploration beyond Earth.
Due to launch in 2025, the Europa Clipper mission has now decided on a phase called Key Decision Point C, an important marker on the road to the launch pad. "We are all excited by the decision that takes the Europa Clipper mission closer to unraveling the mysteries of this ocean world," said Thomas Zurbuchen, Associate Administrator at NASA's Science Mission Directorate.
Europa Clipper will conduct an in-depth investigation of the water world, including whether it can support life in its sub-ocean. Gravitational interactions with Jupiter produce tidal forces and heat, which liquefy Europa's ocean. Heating may also drive volcanic vents on the seashore; On Earth, such vent systems support a wide array of life forms.
But due to cost considerations and the challenges posed by the space environment around Jupiter, it took decades to bring a dedicated mission to this part. Europa's orbital path takes it into a belt of intense radiation that surrounds the massive planet. This radiation fires spacecraft electronics, limiting the duration of future missions to months or weeks.
The special emphasis of the Europa mission is to find the feature of this icy satellite, while the space agency is also planning to launch a small device on it.
Also, the mission of this mission will be monitored by the existence of the alien !!
Note: This multibillion-dollar mission is being prepared for launch in 2023 or 2025. NASA has never sent a dedicated mission to the moon in the solar system other than Earth's own moon.
