Hyperloop in India Interesting information

The hyperloop project is going to be a reality in India soon. Hyperloop One project is being worked on and through this, the long-distance can be covered in minutes. The Hyperloop system consists of a series of tubes and it is possible to travel fast without any friction or air interruption. It has pods to seat people. It has been tested for a long time and there are plans to bring it to India as well.

Although there is no fully functioning Hyperloop so far, but may come soon. According to the report, there are still many difficulties and it remains to be ensured how safe it will be for the people. Virgin Hyperloop is sure that this project can be started.

The Maharashtra government has given the green signal for the Hyperloop project between Mumbai and Pune. 200 kilometers. The distance of 200 km from Hyperloop is estimated to be completed in 35 minutes. Currently, it takes 3.5 hours from Mumbai to Pune.

Virgin Hyperloop One CEO Jay Walder said, 'History is being made. This race is for the first Hyperloop One transportation system in the world and today the announcement puts India ahead in it. This is a major step taken to bring Hyperloop to the public '

Significantly, there have been talks in India about Hyperloop even before this. Elon Musk, CEO of Space X and Tesla, has already stated its plan long back.

What is hyperloop

Hyperloop is a medium of transportation that makes fast travel possible. It has sealed tubes through which pods can be moved without any friction and air resistance. People can be seated in this pod. In 2012 Elon Musk brought such a concept. It is a proposed system that uses capsules and tubes to transport people and goods at a speed of 760 mph. As a comparison, a typical high-speed train has a top speed of just 150 mph.

Maybe now you can see why the word 'hyper' is used!

Speaking of Virgin Hyperloop One, one of its test facilities is in a desert near Las Vegas where it is tested. During the test, the airless tube is moved at a speed of 370km / h. However, this is much lower than the Hyperloop's Theoretical Max speed which is 1126km / h. However, the company says that for this they need an additional 2,000 meters of an additional track on which it can be tested.

Anyway, I'm sure you already know about Hyperloop. But I hope that some (or all) of the 10 known facts will be new to you.

  1. Hyperloop is an open-source technology. That's right, Elon Musk and SpaceX have essentially dispelled his idea, and encouraged others to develop it.
  2. The capsules ride on a bed of air. The pressurized capsule is fired through tunnels by a combination of linear induction motors and air compressors. In other words - they ride on air!
  3. There are several versions of Hyperloop. So far, three companies have taken on the challenge of developing a working hyperloop system. I'll list them for you: Hyperloop One, Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, and Transport.
  4. More than 700 teams entered the Hyperloop Pod competition. SpaceX is the sponsor of the competition, and they have agreed to build a 1-mile long sub-test track in California. Of the 700 teams that entered, 22 have now been selected to design and manufacture the hardware.
  5. Power outages will not shut down the hyperloop. Can you get stuck in a hyperloop capsule during a power cut? I wouldn't be too worried. It is expected that each capsule will be fitted with two or more lithium-ion battery packs. These will provide enough power to transport the affected capsule to its destination.
  6. Hyperloop is designed to be powered by solar energy. Elon Musk has proposed that all power requirements for the hyperloop must be provided by solar panels that are positioned along the length of the transport tubes.
  7. Many countries are fighting first to implement hyperloop.
  8. Hyperloop will be operational anywhere in the world by 2020. This is a direct quote from Sherwin Pishevar, co-founder and chairman of Hyperloop One. Luckily, we don't have time to wait to see if he's right!
  9. Hyperloop does not care about the weather. According to Elon Musk's original design plans, Hyperloop (due to its controlled tube environment) is immune to wind, snow, fog, and rain.
  10. The concept of transporting passengers in air-tight tubes is not new. You may be surprised (as I was hearing) that the British inventor, George Medhurst, patented an air-propulsion tube transport system in 1799!
